Ultrasound of the veins and arteries of the extremities (legs or arms)

A healthy vascular system is very important for our health, so we must take good care of it. How healthy the vascular system of our extremities (legs and arms) is, is verified with the ultrasound examination of the veins and arteries of the extremities, which is completely safe and harmless, painless and quick for the patient.

Do you have varicose veins, sore legs, trouble walking or experience leg swelling? Do you have high blood pressure? Do you always have cold hands? Or would you like to preventively check how healthy the vascular system of your extremities is?

Which ultrasound examinations of the veins and arteries of the extremities do we do in Diagnostični center Bled?

Ultrasound of the arm arteries

Veins are vessels, in which the blood flows towards the heart. Veins have thinner vessel walls than arteries and have valves. Their key task is to bring the blood to the heart. Veins have a thin wall, but generally a larger diameter than arteries, so the blood flows through them slower and under significantly less pressure.

Arteries are vessels, which carry oxygen-enriched blood from the heart to different tissues in our body. The arteries are strong and elastic, while the blood pressure in them is higher. Healthy arteries are of key importance for our health. If the arteries are not completely healthy, this affects the blood flow in the body, which is why our internal organs do not receive enough blood and cannot function properly.

The examinations are performed as a self-pay service at the Diagnostični center Bled. More >>
