The doctor that works at the clinic is Prof. Matjaž Fležar, M.D., specialist in internal medicine and pulmonology, who has 30 years of experience in the treatment of lung patients. His specialty is lung disease diagnostics (heads the Department of Respiratory Functional Diagnosis at the Golnik Clinic), cystic fibrosis, obstructive pulmonary diseases (asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease – COPD), sleep breathing disorders, and sleep medicine (he founded in 1996 and then led the first Slovenian laboratory for the treatment of sleep breathing disorders at Golnik Clinic for many years).
He is also a full time professor at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ljubljana. He is widely invited internationally as a lecturer in the field of asthma, COPB, cystic fibrosis, sleep medicine and pulmonary physiology, a member of advisory committees on the development of new drugs at European and global level, and author of numerous articles on the subject.
