Preventive examination for Women consists of the following tests and services:

Gynaecological examination

Gynaecology is one of the few areas of medicine where a very simple examination can detect precancerous cervical lesions and cervical cancer. In addition to observing cervical changes, the gynaecological examination also allows the detection of changes in the vagina, especially various inflammations. It is helpful for detecting tumors in the uterus or ovaries and different anatomical changes.

Breast ultrasound

A breast ultrasound is a non-invasive ultrasound procedure used as a standalone screening tool or as an adjunct to mammography.

Extensive laboratory analysis

The extensive lab tests are used to determine the full blood count, hepatic, kidney and pancreatic as well as thyroid function while also evaluating the electrolytic balance, blood iron, glucose and cholesterol levels.

BLOOD ANALYSIS: sample collection, haemogram with a differential blood count, sedimentation, hepatogram – liver condition indicators (AST, ALT, GGT, AF, bilirubin), electrolytes in blood (potassium, sodium, chlorine, calcium, phosphorus, magnesium), kidney condition indicators (urea, creatinine with eGFR, uric acid), pancreas tests (amylase, lipase), blood sugar – glucose, lipid profile – blood fats (cholesterols, HDL, LDL, triglycerides), CK, LDH, iron, ferritin, transferrin, TIBC, proteins, albumins, prothrombin time, INR, thyroid hormones – TSH, fT3, fT4, vitamin D.

URINE ANALYSIS: basic analysis and sediment.

Ultrasound of the abdominal organs

Abdominal organs (liver, gall bladder, pancreas, spleen, kidneys, major abdominal arteries, urinary tract, reproductive system) are extensively examined by means of ultrasound.

ECG

ECG is a basic test in cardiology, which assesses the heart rhythm and function of the heart muscle.

Spirometry

Is the measurement of lung volume and the evaluation of the lung’s function. The examination enables the distinction between the symptoms of lung and heart disease.

Discussion with a specialist in internal medicine with interpretation of results

Under the Slovenian ZDDV-1 Act the VAT (Value Added Tax) is not charged for medical services.
